June 1, 2014 Catfish Point MM95

2300-Woke up to wind howling thru the rigging and waves rocking the boat from side to side, guessing the wind was a constant 30-35 kts.  Nothing we could do or no where to go, we counted on the anchor holding and went back to sleep, as sun came up wind settled down to 10-15kts, boat still rocking some,  Curt thinking we were closer to the pilings but a comfortable distance away yet, we had breakfast.  No internet service, no phone service, no electricity, no other boaters around, no one knowing where we were, we listened to the weather on the VHF, our only communication to the outside world.  Started the generator, charged the batteries and made coffee.  I wondering how we would do without all these things all day, boy are we spoiled with modern technology.  Some how my head cooperating so I could do tatting and some quilting on the rocky boat, I got a few things tatted to give away as blessings, hadn't felt like or had time to do this for awhile, wondering who God has in mind that needs his blessings.
Woke up to clear skies, temp low 60's, high 50's and winds NNE at 15-20 kts.  Decided to wait for calmer weather, forecast is for light and variable wind tomorrow am with waves of 1 ft in the sound,( Alligator River).  Forecast for today was 10-15kts waves 2 ft in am, 1 ft in pm.  Spend the day on the boat Curt reading a book and me doing my hand work, eating and even taking a nap.
1600 Things must be settling down, a boat going by us had gone by earlier, now coming back loaded with crab traps from the Alligator River.
1800 Took a dingy ride to the anchorage entrance to see if the Alligator River had settled down.  No more white caps but waves still somewhat large.  With 2.5 hp,Yamaha working nicely (after Curt cleaned out the carburetor in Savannah) we took a farther ride around our anchorage to see the big lake in the back called a Frying Pan, too shallow getting into it from where we were with our boat but motor boats seem to skim across to the water top into it.  No houses for a long ways in any direction.
Started the generator to charge the batteries and watched a movie on the computer, ended up being a real relaxing day even though feeling somewhat isolated from the world.  Good to experience no technology for
awhile. ( Italic writing from Curt's journal.)  Wind very calm, almost mirror waterway, birds even started flying again and fishing jumping.  We decided to try fishing but no bites, still good time to relax and fish off our boat.
