June 7, 2014 Sunset Marina

Another great day, cool sun shiny, catching up on the blog finally. will try to add pictures as time permits.  Off to see Ft. Morgan, groceries, laundry, shower, provision to leave tomorrow, weather permitting.  Hoping to get to the fireworks tonight at Harborfest.  Obviously made it back to the fireworks and the harbor fest again after a trip to Fort Monroe.  Kate at Sunset loaned us her car which was super nice. Met Lauren and her friend Zach to watch fireworks at the Harbor fest.  Hard to say goodbye to our new friends.

June 6, 2014 Friday Sunset Marina, 13 miles past MM 0, going North

Good night sleep.
Decided to take the bus to Harborfest in Norfolk, walked about a mile to catch a sooner bus.  Went thru the vendors, looked at the boats and watched several programs at waterside.  Decided we needed to get out of the sun so went thru the Nauticus Naval Museum and the Battleship Wisconsin.  They walked us out since it was 5 pm, went over to go thru the tallships and happened to walk right into Dan and Kathy Smith who had texted earlier and said they were coming to the fest, hope to meet up.  Can't believe we just walked the same direction they were coming from.  Sat and had a cold rootbeer drink in our new stainless steel mug with free refills.  Got our money's worth, had a great visit with our new friends.  Lauren texted said she was on the way also.  Dan and Kathy willing to take us back to the marina so we would have to ride the bus back.  Met Lauren for a short visit.   Went with the Smith's on the ferry to Portsmouth and stopped at the Taphouse in Hampton for supper, back to the boat for a quick tour for Dan and said our goodnights.  Happy to meet Dan.  You guys are the best!
