June 8, 2014 Sunday leaving Sunset Marina
weather clear with light winds NW, 62 degrees. Away from the dock at 0830 am. Motored and sailed with Jib to Deltaville. 1700Arrived in Deltaville, following waves and 10-12 knot winds, seeing the higher wind when turning into the channel for Deltaville of the Chesapeake Bay. Nelson meeting us at the dock with a cold beverage and snacks which we promptly had after tying up and then dinner of pork chops and vegetables in foil pack on the grill. Of course cheesecake pudding to be eaten on animal crackers.
June 9, 2014 Monday
Hung out with Nelson all day today. Ran errands with him. Found a spinnaker at a consignment shop that will fit our newly purchased spinnaker, we think perfectly. Anxious to try it. Bought 1 lb spicy shrimp and reg. boiled shrimp. Went back to Nelson's 47 ft. Beneteau "Sante" for peel and eat shrimp. Yumm Hummus and crackers and beer mid afternoon. Life is good. Finished our errands, and went back to Nelson's boat for homemade Pina Coladas. Got to use my magic bullet. yeah glad I brought it on the trip, neat to use it again! Traded the Captain's chair in for a new one at West Marine because it was ripping out in the back by the hinge. No questions asked return, yeah! Back to our boat for fresh tuna, grilled on our grill after the fresh corn on the cob done. Spicy rice and beans and 3 bean salad. Yum on the back of our boat with a cool breeze from the water and a good visit among old friends. Thanks Nelson for making the trip from Richmond to Deltaville.
