February 15, 2014 Saturday, Ft. Myers Yacht Basin

Woke up to a partly cloudy day, wind is supposed to pick up to 20 kts again with gusts of 30 so our other traveling friends aren't leaving till tomorrow or Monday.  We're going to the farmer's market with Linda and later thru the street craft fair and tonight to the parade.  Fun day in downtown Ft. Myers.  Hope to see you Judy and Billy, would be nice to see you again.  Curt giving up on seeing a bigger boat here that is for sale, the smaller one just gets us more places than the bigger one as far as anchorages.   Curt thought he might be able to go sailing today but doesn't sound promising with the high gusts, maybe tomorrow if we don't leave for Naples.
Bought lots at the farmer's market, fresh lettuce, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, Yellow squash, zucchini, white mushrooms, asparagus, butternut squash, strawberries, Honey bum oranges and an avocado from Sanibel Island, freshly made guacamole and some lotion to keep the no see um's away.  good stuff.  Thanks to Linda we got provisioned with the other stuff and are good to go for a week or so.  Rick took Curt for a ride in the Jaguar convertible, I'm so jealous.  They came back to the boat while Linda and I bought some Handsome Devil and Dream Tree Crush at Target.  We got back and they had the starter cylinoid on the motor and working.  Happy Hour with Guacamole and home canned salsa and fresh chips on the back of the boat to celebrate our boat motor is complete again.
Went to the street fair, lots of jewelry, books, honey etc, and more jewelry.  The Farmer's Market at Cape Coral was much, much better with music, coffee, bakery, meat market, massages, etc. Very Cool.  Thank you Linda and thank you Rick for helping Curt make our boat engine complete again.
Went to the Edison Parade of Lights, lasting 2 1/2 hours, lots of bands and floats with fireworks at the beginning of the parade.  Very cold though, down to 54 on down to 43 tonight, wind still blowing strong.

Rick's Cobra and Linda's Jaguar convert. in the garage
The movie motorcycle and sidecar Rick made.  Man are you talented.  Very cool to see the actual bike, Wow!

Nice cars, what does a girl need to do to get a ride in these two hot cars?  So jealous Curt got a ride in the Jag. convertible.  I miss my convertible and summer:) back in Bismarck.

  1. Next time you go to a farmer's market, see if you can find Cheyote squash....originally grown by the Aztecs in Mexico....grows in Florida....very good.....pear shaped, apple green in color
