January 13, 2014 Monday

Caught a picture of our last breakfast, almost missed the pineapple and bananas, Soursop to the bottom left and mango to the bottom right
One last picture of the Taro Fields in Hanalei and the tail of Puff coming around and down to the edge of the Taro fields.  If you enlarge this picture above(click twice on the picture) you'll see the one lane bridge that we crossed to go to Hanalei Bay over a river that flows from the mountain out to the ocean

Went looking for the best beach and sea shells.  Found this Beach called Anni Beach, lots of sea shells, amazed at how clear the water is and blue.  My toes are in the water, but nothing else in the sand...yet and no cold ----- in the hand.

Thought we might have supper, but at closer look, someone else had supper and lots of it.  Nice size heads of lobster, can you imagine how big the tails were.  Not seen this kind of lobster before, pretty colors.  Can you find the eyeballs on the one above?

Looking for sea shells, such pretty colors in the sand on the beach

Underside of the lobster and below top, can you see the tiny eyeballs?  Creepy?

Check out the hole in these pictures, if you enlarge it you'll see a sand crab that was playing peekaboo with me.  He must have had an over inflated ego to think he was worthy of catching and eating him or becoming a pet.

Waves breaking way out there but didn't see the whales behind them
More looking for sea shells, this was the only beach we found to have lots of seashells and they were pretty broken up along with the white coral, why we didn't get a snorkeling gear or bring ours from our boat I don't know!!!!

Looking over the lighthouse on the point that we toured earlier in the week
Kalihiwai Beach pretty view, not many seashells

Nice houses for sale along here

Went to Anahola Beach where there were several surfers catching waves, not as busy as Hanalei Bay but rocks to watch out for when coming in on the surf board, nice sand and with life guard.

Vera enjoyed watching the surfers so did Curt and I, almost mesmerizing to watch and see if they could get up.
Kind of a beach with lots of fire wood and a butterfly at the bottom, only monarch we saw here

Afternoon quiet time back at the room, rum punch with a slice of fresh pineapple and a book on the Lanai overlooking a tropical forest and mountain with a waterfall in 80 degree temp.  Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Decided to go the resort at the end of the road from our resort to see if it was the huge one we saw going around Hanalei Bay.  It was.  Timed the visit for sundown.  They had someone park our car, opened the doors for us to get out.  Obviously we were not staying there by the way we were dressed and the car we were driving but they were very kind.  Walked into a huge entryway and proceeded to the bar/lounge outside overlooking the bay where we watched the sun disappear over the mountain Bali Hai.

Sun rays were magnificent at sundown
Made our way down to the beach 9 floors and switching to another elevator
Moon coming up

Looking down at the beach from the swimming pool area

sundown beach pictures, colors were amazing, found some neat little black seashells

Just can't get enough pictures of the pink across the water

Decided to stay for desert Salted Chocolate Carmel ice cream $12.00 for one dish.  But the view at night time and the ambiance was worth it.
