January 6, 2014

2 nd day Touring Kauai, Hi., found out there is a flower photo contest at the resort so started looking at all the beautiful flowers.
Not sure the name of this purple flower beside Curt's mom
Yellow hisbiscus, beautiful when picture is enlarged, double click on the picture
Taro field when coming down the mountain into Hanalei, the end of the mountain on the left side is the tail of Puff the Magic Dragon
 Pink Hisbiscus
 Colorful plants
Bird of Paradise growing all over.
Pink  Bouganvia growing like trees here
 Our Condos
 More flowers

Feral Roosters and hens over the entire Island
Wouldn't you love to have this fresh bouquet in your living room.
SUP is quite the thing to rent and do up the river and out in the ocean.(Stand Up Paddleboard)
An old Woody parked in front of a realtor's office
 Old church in Hanalei
Finally at Kealia Beach North Shore

Hey stand there for a picture.
Yah that's what I'm talking about.  How's the water Mom?
Yah I know the back of your pants are wet, but it will dry quickly.
 Warm water?

Wonder if this is a Red Footed Boobie foot prints or a Cow Egret
Marilyn's feet, sand very course on this beach, funny pine seeds under my feet
What is Curt thinking as he's standing looking out at the Pacific by himself?
Informative sign, do you think the life guard gets asked these questions much?
Mom's are so good to listen to little boy's dreams and share in them.

Don't fluff a rooster's feathers, he might chase you

Dry cave across the road from Kealia Beach

The tale is a fishermen thought there was a monster stilling his fish so he looked for him and dug this cave to find him.
Wet caves, not sure the story, divers are said not to have "found much" when they dove in them.
Farmer's market on the way back from the beach.
We bought Longan's or Dragon's eyes.  Vera tried the Lychee's (Rambutan) thought it tasted like tough jello but a good flavor.
 The ginger root smelled heavenly
Avocados were like butter, humm, didn't know there were so many varieties
Star fruit front left, didn't try yet.

 Herbs, tumeric root
Papaya front left, Soursop and Black Persimmon Behind, we bought these, ate a tiny piece, the lady said when they get soft okay to eat and it will taste like chocolate pudding,  It was soft but not completely black so tried it.  Thought we were going to die, mouth and throat burned, nauseated within a few minutes, flushed my mouth with water, super alkaloid astringent.  After research on the internet, trying not to go to ER found out Coke is an antidote.  Curt got Pepsi and started to feel better after that,
Pineapple was yummy, apple bananas were good
 Soursop in different sizes
 Rambutan's

Cute chinese sales lady
