October 15, 2013 Tuesday
Woke up this morning with a little rain shower and cloudy which as forecasted was to continue all day. Yeh, to Paducah we went with Judy from S/V Tortola, Billy stayed back to work on the boat. The wooden quilt was the high light of Judy's day and Curt's, Walked along the concrete wall between the river and the city which was built to be their flood wall. On the inside were painted murals depicting the history of Paducah with little Plaques of explanation. Stopped at a antique store, nothing exciting and different to me anyway, may to Curt. Stopped at the Quilt in a Day quilt shop, nice shop with lots of Eleanor Burns books, surprise! Went on down the street for a quick walk thru to another quilt shop and then on the road to Hancock of Paducah which I was blown away, biggest fabric store I've been in, all kinds of fabric lines and in the back room their mail order kits, patterns and fabric. Wow. Yes I did buy kits for Christmas presents, friends (Bobbi) and me. Awesome store, outside was just a tin warehouse type building, very deceiving. Home to the Marina quickly since we're late and happy to get to Hancock of Paducah. Still raining off and on, wet dreary day, everyone in their boats doing whatever. Had tuna fish sandwich and Curt went to return a purchase from the Chancery. I got the keys to the car again to go to the grocery store for provisions before we leave tomorrow. Got to go over to Light house Marina with tons of Hunter sailboats, back here to the Marina, still raining but warm 70's today. Caught up on the blog as you can tell. Will try to do pictures at next Wifi opportunity.

Hi Marilyn! FINALLY found your blog after Mike texted the right sight to me - Have been enjoying reading about your adventure - keep it up - and keep on keeping your eyes open for God's presence with you!
ReplyDeleteWe leave for MX Oct. 29th, but I'll hopefully have internet right away so I can keep up with you!
Hugs to you both. Nancy
good to hear from you, God Bless your trip also. God has been very close to us and seems as though he always has a plan for where we go and what we do and who we meet. It has been amazing, feel like we are being blessed more than we are blessing others. keep commenting
ReplyDeleteJust south of where you are not too far from the river is the Shiloh Civil War Battlefield....if you get a chance to go see it, I highly recommend it.....I have never figured out why, but many battlefields that I have been to (including this one) are remarkably beautiful places (in spite of the obvious horrors that occurred there)....As I recall, this one has a beautiful white church on the grounds
